The Preferred Vision has been released!

We've worked with members of the public and a diverse range of stakeholders for over a year to develop the Preferred Vision for the Point of the Mountain, which was presented to the Point of the Mountain Development Commission on January 22nd, 2018, and will be shared with the legislature during the 2018 Legislative Session.

Phase Two Scenario Survey Release

The Phase Two Scenario Survey has been released and can be taken at PointOfTheMountainSurvey.org. The survey allows residents to weigh in on the best elements of five possible scenarios for how the region will develop, spanning topics from air quality and recreation to job growth and the economy.

We will be presenting the information contained in this survey at the public workshops later this week:

  • November 29th from 6:00-7:00 p.m. at Thanksgiving Point's Ashton Gardens Visitors Center, 3900 North Garden Drive, Lehi, UT 84043
  • November 30th from 6:00-7:00 p.m. at the Loveland Living Planet Aquarium, 12033 Lone Peak Parkway, Draper, UT 84020

After they are held, the materials from the public workshops will be posted on PointOfTheMountainFuture.org for those unable to attend.

All input from the in-person workshops and online survey will be compiled by the project team and will be used to create a preferred scenario. The Point of the Mountain Development Commission will present the preferred scenario during the 2018 Legislative Session.

Phase Two Baseline Scenario Brochure Release

The Baseline Scenario for the Point of the Mountain has been released following the Point of the Mountain Development Commission meeting this morning!

The Point of the Mountain Development Commission is exploring different options to accommodate the growth and the implications of those choices. It is impossible to predict the future with complete accuracy, but this baseline scenario anticipates how the area could turn out in 2050 if we continue on our current path.

Click here to read the brochure and watch the flyover video!

We are now beginning the process of modeling different scenarios for public workshops later this year, and will keep this website updated with the latest news.

The Point of the Mountain can lead the way in establishing a 21st Century “innovation economy,” providing a convenient and enjoyable lifestyle, and demonstrating sustainable approaches to using natural resources and improving air quality.
